I Don’t Want Chocolate, I’d Rather Have a Man (1958)

With the 1958 released title “I DON’T WANT CHOCOLATE, I’D RATHER HAVE A MAN” feierte die kölsche Volksschauspielerin TRUDE HERR (1927-1991) ihren grössten Publikumserfolg.

For a period of two years the rebellious Trude Herr kept herself afloat as a barmaid in the Cologne gay bar “Barberina”!

She was a unique figure in the Cologne theatre scene of the 50s and German comedy films of the 60s made her a star.

“Ich will keine Schokolade, ich will lieber einen Mann” werd in 1958 ‘hèt’ succes van de volkse theater actrice Trude Herr.  Na een moeizame jeugd; haar vader werd door het nazi-regime jarenlang vastgezet, schopte zij het tot directeur van het theater van Keulen.
